LoveUkraine Updates

Praise Reports:

  1. This weekend; food, and critical items that you helped us gather, are crossing the border from Romania into Ukraine via trucks and smaller vehicles where they will be distributed.

  2. With our teams in Europe - This week we’re able to facilitate families’ departures and settling in Poland, Romania, and Germany.

  3. We are able to directly fund our teams in Ukraine with resources to buy food and medication in hard-hit areas.

  4. LoveUkraine care packages are being shipped from Baltimore with the final destination being families in Ukraine really needing it

  5. We are making connections and partnerships around the country and in Europe to funnel supplies over the borders and on the ground in Ukraine.

  6. There is a growing team in Maryland that sacrificially are helping get things into planes to ship to Ukraine

Prayer Points:

  1. Above all, we are praying for wisdom

  2. Protection for our teams on the ground in Ukraine. In some cases, our teams are staying to the last minute to serve in their cities and neighborhoods.

  3. Protection for the many kids and orphans caught in the crossfire of this war.

  4. Protection for the older and handicapped that cannot leave

  5. Prayer and protection for all the men from 18-60 years of age that are not allowed to Leave Ukraine sending their families on and they themselves staying behind to fight.

  6. Protection and provision for the Ukrainian soldiers standing their ground with little to no supplies

  7. Protective gear to reach our guys on the ground. (Some of our men on the ground have volunteered or have been drafted by the Ukrainian army to patrol the streets at night. Because the invading troops have night vision capabilities they are striking at night. If you’d like to sponsor (non-lethal) night vision scopes for our guys on night patrols - they are immediately available for the time being to be bought on the ground for $2800 apiece)

  8. Pray for logistics getting things across the border into Ukraine. Many things that are needed such as medication are scarcely available in Poland and Romania.

  9. Pray for those many Russian soldiers who are just boys that are surrendering en masse due to fear, confusion, hunger, and lack of supplies

  10. Pray for the health of some of our team members on the Romanian border.

  11. Pray as we are looking for more housing in the Lviv region for refugees coming from the east and south.

Thank you and God bless you.

YOUR gift and prayers are making the difference!

Our trajectory is 3 fold over the next 4-5 years

  1. RESCUE - Settle those that are displaced and in danger

  2. RELIEF - Wash the feet of those hurting and healing

  3. REBUILD - Churches and outreaches in Ukraine

We are now in the RESCUE phase

In the last 48 hours, we’ve seen God put together missing pieces of the puzzle.

Praise report:

  1. Logistics have come together for trucks with food, medical supplies, protective gear, and material to start going into Ukraine From Poland & Romania to cities in need. We begin sending those today

  2. We are putting care packages and first aid kits with protective gear into planes that are flying the items into the hands of the Ukrainian military to distribute where most needed.

  3. Our teams are working directly with aid grtoups going into some very hot areas for triage and rescue operations.

  4. We are assisting a large orphans’ organization in resuing the kids out of areas from Kyiv and around Ukraine.

  5. We are coordinating with an aid organization mobilizing 20+ buses to transport people to safety in Ukraine and beyond.

  6. An individual who owns a business in the health care industry contacted us last night and told us God put it on his heart to take all the proceeds they make for the month of March and donate it to our present mission of LoveUkraine.

  7. Funds are getting directly into the hands of our teams on the ground in Ukraine, Poland, Austria, and Romania for rescue and relief efforts.

  8. People in Ukraine are seeing the Hands of Feet of Christ through your partnership and are being very comforted.

  9. God is raising up supporters and prayer partners Stateside and overseas.

  10. Our teams are not only providing material support but spiritual, sharing the gospel, praying with people, and leading them to the True Rescuer, Jesus.

Immediate needs and prayer requests:

  1. Wisdom from God

  2. Protection for the Ukrainians on the move and those left behind with family that are not mobile

  7. Our trip to Poland and the region in less than 2 weeks.

LoveUkraine - February 28

Good morning,

I wanted to give you a brief update and go over a few points on our plans and trajectory of help for Ukraine.

But first of all thank you for your support, prayers, and gifts to the Body of Christ in Ukraine!

Prayers being answered:

  1. People are getting out of Ukraine in some cases miraculously.

  2. International support for Ukraine has been at a level never seen before.

  3. Polish people have sacrificially helped refugees coming across the border.

  4. Ukrainians are getting saved and baptized in some of our churches in Poland.

  5. There is an overwhelming response of prayer and support from our GG churches.

What’s happening this morning.

  1. All our GG churches are safe in light of the incessant bombing of civilian targets and utilities

  2. We have formed a team here Stateside to handle the logistics of all the gifts and support coming in.

  3. We have a growing network of GG churches and other orgs / persons in Poland, Romania, Czech, Hungary, and Germany.

  4. At present, our teams are staying put in Ukraine and have not decided to leave yet, but are standing by their sheep and supporting the Ukrainian troops in their neighborhoods and cities with their belongings and food/hygenic necessities.

  5. Some of our church families are scattered around Kyiv, in villages, hunkering down; waiting, and praying. Their electricity is intermittent

  6. 3 families are on the Ukrainian border with Poland, Slovakia, and Moldova for the 2nd and 3rd day in a row waiting in line to exit Ukraine to Poland.

  7. Your financial support is getting into the hands of our teams in Kyiv, Odesa, Cherkasy, and Lviv. Thank you!

  8. We are on daily Zoom calls and messaging with our teams in Ukraine - they are very busy during the day working with refugees and at night they are in bomb shelters and sheltering in place.

  9. Major Ukrainian cities are still holding up but are being surrounded. The next phase is messy and disastrous urban street fighting and an increase in civilian casualties.

  10. Lviv and Odesa are still quiet with the occasional air raid sirens.

  11. There are talks going on between the Russian and Ukrainian governments but the outlook for peace is not too bright at present.

  12. We have a quickly growing network of support and help.

Our Trajectory for helping Ukraine for the next 4 years:

This war will not be as quick as Putin hoped, it has the potential to drag out for weeks.

Phase One: Get our people to safety in Ukraine or out of Ukraine

Phase Two: Help settle displaced people and provide them with ongoing spiritual and material support until they get on their feet.

Phase Three: (Simultaneously with Phases 1&2) Coordinate and connect Ukrainians with our churches in Europe for fellowship and evangelism in Ukrainian

Phase Four: Rebuild our churches in Ukraine and plant new works, especially in the east.

What we need prayer and support for:

  1. For God to comfort and strengthen the people of Ukraine now.

  2. Some troubling news is emerging that forces from Belarus may come down and attack alongside the western border of Ukraine with Poland to block off the country from Poland. Prayer that that would not happen.

  3. For the safety of people trapped in Kyiv, all roads out from Kyiv are now blocked

  4. For food and supplies to get to people, stores are getting pretty empty.

  5. Our support tracks into Ukraine - we are getting resources such as trucks and supplies together to send in help ASAP.

  6. To network with the right people to help

  7. Prayers for President Zelensky and his government.

LoveUkraine - February 26

Thank you for your recent support and prayer for Ukraine at this time. I wanted to update you and let you know I’ve added you to our updates. Some of the content in this email is a summary of earlier emails we’ve sent out this week to catch you up to speed.

Even though last night was a very hard night for Ukrainians, especially in Kyiv, tonight will even be harder as Chechen and Russian forces move into Kyiv on foot under the cover of aerial bombardments. At present, there is a major campaign to take Kyiv, as well as other large cities in Ukraine, but forces that are moving in are facing fierce resistance from the Ukrainian army and armed civilians.

Our pastors and their families like many other Ukrainian ministers and missionaries have chosen not to leave but to stand by their pulpits and their sheep in their cities.

Every day I am on zoom and the phone with our leaders and they are in good spirit and sense your prayer, they are thankful for your support. They have become contact points for many to take refuge spiritually and physically.

One brother in our bible school in Kyiv, named Andriej, - a new believer, was drafted into the Ukrainian Army’s foot battalion last night. He was tasked to bring supplies to troops stationed around Kyiv in anticipation of the blitz to take the city. As his wife was cleaning a wound from an injury on his head on our zoom call - he asked us for prayers and help to get simple necessities to his fellow soldiers as well as New Testaments and Christian literature to them. We were able to do that today because of your support. He’s had the opportunity to share Christ and pray with them, leading some of these young men to Christ.

I am getting reports of our pastors and their teams going out onto the streets and sharing Christ with scared and angry people - comforting them with prayer. This is truly a time for the Body of Christ to shine the Gospel in Ukraine.

During our zoom calls, we’ve had times of prayer and tears with them yet we have not heard one word of hatred or revenge towards the Russian people. Only prayers.

This invasion has already translated into a massive refugee crisis that will only worsen as Ukrainians flee to the western borders of Ukraine and into Poland, Slovakia, and Hungary. Several of our church families are still on the road for hours moving towards any place that is safe with very challenging traffic.

We are working with our pastors and friends in Poland and Hungary to help house, dispense material, and give spiritual support to those already arriving from Ukraine.

I spoke with one organization yesterday that works intensively with Ukrainian orphans - and by God’s grace, we are able to help get their orphans out of danger in Ukraine and into Poland.

Greater Grace Church Lviv has become a point of contact with many other churches for humanitarian aid organizations and the L’viv City Council. Your support is helping us field families coming into Lvvi looking for refuge. The 4 story building that we own there housed refugees from the east during the 2014 invasion and will do so again.

Prayer Points:

  1. Wisdom

  2. A word in season and spiritual support for those suffering

  3. Safety for the Ukrainian people caught in the crossfire

  4. A quick international diplomatic resolution

  5. Housing for many of our brothers and sisters on the run displaced by the fighting

  6. Help to reach those in cities such as Maripol cut off by the conflict

  7. My trip there to the region in 3 weeks.

If the Lord moves your heart to give to help with resources you may give here directly to our Aid for Ukraine fund: www.EverGrace.org/give.

Thank you and God bless you.

LoveUkraine - February 25

Thank you for the many calls and messages of support and prayer. I’m sure many of you are seeing on the news what is transpiring in Ukraine these last 2 days.

Last night was a very hard night for Ukrainians, especially in Kyiv. Our pastors and their families have chosen not to leave but to stand by their pulpits and people in their cities. They sense your prayer and support. They have become contact points for many people to take refuge spiritually and physically.

At present, there is a major campaign to take Kyiv. Forces are moving in from the west, south, the east, and the north but are meeting fierce resistance.

I am on Zoom calls and the phone daily and far into the night with our pastors and their families in Ukraine. They are safe at this point. We’ve had times of prayer and tears. I have not heard yet one word of hatred or revenge from our folks towards the Russian people. Only prayers.

I am getting reports of our pastors and their families going out onto the streets and sharing Christ with scared and angry people - comforting them with prayer. This is truly a time for the Body of Christ to shine the Gospel in Ukraine.

This invasion is coming to a head in the next few days and has already translated into a mass refugee situation that will only worsen as Ukrainians head to Lviv (the most western city of Ukraine 45 minutes from the Polish border). The roads west to Lviv and Poland have become quite treacherous.

We are working with our pastors and friends in Poland to help house, give material and spiritual support to those already arriving from Ukraine. I spoke with one organization that works intensively with Ukrainian orphans - and by God’s grace, we can help get their orphans out of danger in Ukraine into Poland and onward.

Greater Grace Church in Lviv has become a point of contact for some humanitarian aid organizations and the L’viv City Council. We own a 4 story building there that housed refugees from the east during the 2014 invasion and will do so again.

We ask for your prayers. If the Lord moves your heart to give to help with resources you may inbox us here or give directly to our Aid for Ukraine fund: www.EverGrace.org/give.

LoveUkraine - February 24

Thank you to the many that have reached out to us and our church families in Ukraine. I apologize I have not been able to return all of your texts and calls yet. I have been up most of the night on calls with our Ukrainians who were wakened from their sleep from the sound of explosions.

The overall feeling is concern, prayerful watching, and continuing on with their lives as best as possible. I’m sure many of you are abreast of the news of what’s happening in Ukraine moment by moment, so I won’t attempt to do that now.

I’ve just gotten off the phone with all our pastors in Ukraine and they are doing well. There is an overall peace in their hearts - our church in Lviv is coordinating with their local authorities on how they can help with refugees arriving in western Ukraine. Our church in Odessa has gone out to parks to share Christ praying and comfort people. Many of them have begun onliner prayer meetings. All our churches see this as an opportunity for the Gospel in Ukraine.

My plans remain the same to travel to Ukraine after EuroCon to be with our people there on the ground.

Please continue to pray for Ukraine and for the people there. Things are going to most likely worsen over the next few days if there is not a change in the trajectory of diplomacy.

Many have contacted us with the intent to help with resources for those that are being impacted by the conflict in Ukraine. If you’d like to help financially you may give online to the Ukraine Fund we’ve created online via EverGrace church here:

Thank you and God bless you.
