Good morning,
I wanted to give you a brief update and go over a few points on our plans and trajectory of help for Ukraine.
But first of all thank you for your support, prayers, and gifts to the Body of Christ in Ukraine!
Prayers being answered:
People are getting out of Ukraine in some cases miraculously.
International support for Ukraine has been at a level never seen before.
Polish people have sacrificially helped refugees coming across the border.
Ukrainians are getting saved and baptized in some of our churches in Poland.
There is an overwhelming response of prayer and support from our GG churches.
What’s happening this morning.
All our GG churches are safe in light of the incessant bombing of civilian targets and utilities
We have formed a team here Stateside to handle the logistics of all the gifts and support coming in.
We have a growing network of GG churches and other orgs / persons in Poland, Romania, Czech, Hungary, and Germany.
At present, our teams are staying put in Ukraine and have not decided to leave yet, but are standing by their sheep and supporting the Ukrainian troops in their neighborhoods and cities with their belongings and food/hygenic necessities.
Some of our church families are scattered around Kyiv, in villages, hunkering down; waiting, and praying. Their electricity is intermittent
3 families are on the Ukrainian border with Poland, Slovakia, and Moldova for the 2nd and 3rd day in a row waiting in line to exit Ukraine to Poland.
Your financial support is getting into the hands of our teams in Kyiv, Odesa, Cherkasy, and Lviv. Thank you!
We are on daily Zoom calls and messaging with our teams in Ukraine - they are very busy during the day working with refugees and at night they are in bomb shelters and sheltering in place.
Major Ukrainian cities are still holding up but are being surrounded. The next phase is messy and disastrous urban street fighting and an increase in civilian casualties.
Lviv and Odesa are still quiet with the occasional air raid sirens.
There are talks going on between the Russian and Ukrainian governments but the outlook for peace is not too bright at present.
We have a quickly growing network of support and help.
Our Trajectory for helping Ukraine for the next 4 years:
This war will not be as quick as Putin hoped, it has the potential to drag out for weeks.
Phase One: Get our people to safety in Ukraine or out of Ukraine
Phase Two: Help settle displaced people and provide them with ongoing spiritual and material support until they get on their feet.
Phase Three: (Simultaneously with Phases 1&2) Coordinate and connect Ukrainians with our churches in Europe for fellowship and evangelism in Ukrainian
Phase Four: Rebuild our churches in Ukraine and plant new works, especially in the east.
What we need prayer and support for:
For God to comfort and strengthen the people of Ukraine now.
Some troubling news is emerging that forces from Belarus may come down and attack alongside the western border of Ukraine with Poland to block off the country from Poland. Prayer that that would not happen.
For the safety of people trapped in Kyiv, all roads out from Kyiv are now blocked
For food and supplies to get to people, stores are getting pretty empty.
Our support tracks into Ukraine - we are getting resources such as trucks and supplies together to send in help ASAP.
To network with the right people to help
Prayers for President Zelensky and his government.
